New airlines, new routes: GDCA summarized results for 2 years

The General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia (GDCA) under the government of Armenia summed up the results of work with the airlines and noted the results of joint work over the past two years.

Twelve new airlines appeared in the aviation market of Armenia in 2 years. It is stated in the report of the General Department of Civil Aviation, which adjoins the government of Armenia.

According to the results, in 2 years 12 new airlines (Armenia Aircompany, Brussels Airways, Qatar Airways, Wataniya Airways, Germania Fluggesellschaft, Arkia Israeli Airlines, Cham Wings, Air Cairo, Turkmenistan Airlines, Red Wings, Nordwind Airlines, Pobeda ) have entered the Armenian market. In addition, 12 new routes were opened (Lyon, Brussels, Doha, Kuwait, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Damascus, Sharm El Sheikh, Ashgabat, Frankfurt, Astana), and two companies - Belavia, Czech Airlines - returned to the aviation market.

It is also reported that the new routes have already had a positive impact on the performance of airports in Armenia. The indicators of the airport Shirak in Gyumri which began to work after a long pause are noteworthy.

There is also a sharp increase in the number of transit flights that are carried out through the airspace of Armenia. Let's remind that in Armenia courses on training of private pilots started, and also for the first time flights for helicopters will be carried out.
